Meet David!

Major: Political Science in Six-Year Law Program
Hometown: Chicago, IL
What are your career goals?
International Lawyer and/or Ambassador to a foreign country

Why did you choose UMKC?
Mainly my program and financials. Got a lot of great scholarships!
What are you involved with on campus?
Campus Ambassador Leadership Team, Resident Assistant (RA) in Johnson Hall, Mock Trial President, College of Arts & Sciences Student Exec. Board, SGA Senator for CAS, Enactus Project Leader, Residential Hall Council (Past)

What’s your favorite thing about UMKC?
Growing up in and around a city, I liked and appreciated the city feel but it was always a little too busy for me. That is why UMKC which is right by the city and has the plaza right next door gives me the option of having both busy & non-busy city life, giving me the best of both worlds.

What’s your favorite thing about KC?
It is almost like a “hipster” city; it may not be as popular as bigger cities like Chicago, New York or LA but because of that, the whole city feels much more personal and undiscovered, which I like.

May you share a fun fact with us?
I have been to 6 out of the 7 continents (obviously not Antarctica)!
What is your ultimate comfort meal or food?
Korean BBQ & Bubble Tea

So you’ve been doing this college thing for a while now. Any advice for students?
GET INVOLVED! By getting involved in some organization or group on campus you can make your UMKC experience ten times better! It also can help you branch out and discover/build yourself and mold yourself into what kind of person you want to be in the future. They are also just a lot of fun! (:
